John Melbourne has been victorious in the Heroes Ultra Marathon
We are delighted to report Tadworth Athletic Club runner John Melbourne has been victorious in the Heroes Ultra Marathon which took place on the 21st of May 2016 in Crete, Greece. The gruelling event involves running from southern to northern Crete with over 5400 metres of climbing. John finished with a winning time of 21 hours and 31 minutes, a fantastic performance.
The amount of preparation involved to achieve this result is not to be underestimated and unfortunately John’s training for the event in Crete was interrupted when he suffered an injury to his right knee after a fall whilst running in a 45 mile ultra-event. John says this was a crucial time in terms of preparing for Crete and therefore maintaining his running in the water at Aqua-Physio really helped not only maintain fitness but also helped heal his injury quickly.
One of our physio’s Phil caught up with John recently to talk about the event and why he chose AquaPhysio for his recovery.
